Stone carpet can be used for indoor and outdoor projects in the UAE when the binder, substrate preparation, system thickness and drainage are selected correctly. A properly specified system is suitable for terraces, balconies, pathways, courtyards and other surfaces exposed to the UAE climate.
Is stone carpet waterproof or water-permeable?+
Standard stone carpet is water-permeable, not waterproof. It allows water to pass through its open structure, while any required waterproofing, falls and drainage must be completed beneath the decorative surface. This is especially important for balconies, rooftops, wet areas and pool surrounds.
